CUPW negotiations: Information on the return to work for CUPW-represented employees

Canada Post looks forward to welcoming all CUPW-represented employees in the Urban and RSMC bargaining units back to work at 8 am local time on Tuesday, December 17.
We recognize the return to work will not be easy, emotionally or operationally. To better prepare, we’d like to share the following information:
First day of operations
All employees who would normally be scheduled to work at that time are expected to report to work at 8 am local time on December 17. Employees whose shifts would ordinarily start earlier will also begin their workday at 8 am local time and not earlier. Shifts will end at their regularly scheduled time.
Focus on safety
As we resume operations, health and safety remain our top priorities. We will focus on ensuring safe working conditions as we reopen facilities and begin to clear accumulated mail and parcels from the postal network.
Employees should take time to become reaccustomed to performing their work safely. They should also ensure they have the correct PPE, and that all vehicles and equipment are inspected and in safe working order.
To support employees as operations resume, we are communicating to customers that service guarantees are temporarily suspended, and that we are not currently accepting new commercial products or conducting pickups immediately.

Collective agreements and benefits
The terms of the collective agreements are being extended until May 2025, and leave and benefits will be reinstated effective December 17 at 8 am local time.
More details on the retroactive pay increase for CUPW-represented employees will be provided as soon as possible.
