March 25, 2025, 01:50 pm
IIC hearings are now complete
As you know, the Industrial Inquiry Commission (IIC) has been underway since the beginning of the year. Commissioner William Kaplan held hearings with Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) in January and February. A third hearing had been scheduled for March but is not required.

Now that the hearings have been completed, the Commissioner will present his report of recommendations to the Minister of Labour by May 15.
The collective agreements between Canada Post and CUPW are set to expire on May 22.
About the Industrial Inquiry Commission
The IIC was established in December by the Minister of Labour and comes at a critically important time for Canada’s postal service as we work to respond to the changing needs of Canadians. The IIC is being led by William Kaplan, a highly respected arbitration and mediation expert familiar with Canada Post.
