DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR OPENING A POST OFFICE – (AUTHORIZED DEALER)

The following is for a full-Service Post Office (Full A, Shared or Rural B).
Reminder: Once completed verify that your signatures are in all the appropriate boxes.
Return all completed documents to the Canada Post representative by either scan or email.

1 Dealership Application
  • Ensure TAX numbers are indicated
    • GST/HST (9 digits, 2 alpha, 4 digits)
    • QST
    • PST
2 Reliability Status Since the safety of our personnel, mail, and property is our top priority, all individuals providing contractual services to Canada Post must hold a valid security clearance
3 Personnel Screening Consent and Authorization You will receive an email invitation from ‘do-not-reply do-not-reply@CanPostIAMGIAPostesCan.onmicrosoft.com’ to create your profile on our Security+ portal. If you do not receive the email within a reasonable time, please check your junk folder in case our email ended up there.
All instructions for the reliability clearance process are included in the email, along with the document required for fingerprinting.
4 Documents Required to Complete the Reliability Clearance Request on Canada Post’s Security+ Portal
  • You must provide two valid pieces of identification. One of them must include a photo.
  • The fingerprinting document with the DCN number (must have been completed within the last 6 months and specifically for Canada Post—not for any other organization).
  • If you have lived outside of Canada for more than 12 months in the past 5 years, you must provide a Police Certificate from the country where you resided.

7 Beneficial Ownership Form Information Guide: Beneficial Ownership

  • The information guide explains the purpose of the Beneficial Ownership Form
  • The completed Beneficial Ownership Form is required for all full-service dealer locations:
    • Sale of business to a new owner(s)
    • New business opening
    • Contract renewals
    • Shareholder ownership change
  • When signing the form, please either:
    • Option 1: Create a digital signature, sign form digitally
    • Option 2: Print form, physically sign, scan and email back
8 Sales Maintenance Agreement Form

To proceed with the setup of your Retail Point of Sale (POS) unit, please complete, sign and submit the document to your Retail Network Officer. This ensures you are fully informed of all applicable charges, monthly fees, and ongoing maintenance responsibilities associated with the POS system.
