New collective agreement bonus and allowance payments will be paid over two pay periods in August

After 18 months of negotiations, Canada Post and the Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association (CPAA) have a new collective agreement. This agreement includes new wages, allowances and a signing bonus. These payments will be made over two pay periods in August.

The following payments will be included in pay period 16 (August 14):

  • Signing bonus.
    • Eligibility for the signing bonus will be based on your substantive position.
  • Leasing allowance, including retroactivity to January 1, 2024.
  • Isolated post allowance, including retroactivity to January 1, 2024.
  • Senior assistant allowance adjustment, including retroactivity to January 1, 2024.

The following payments will be included in pay period 17 (August 28):

  • Wages will be adjusted to reflect the new rates.
  • Retroactive amounts will reflect the new wage rates for all hours worked since January 1, 2024.
  • Supplemental allowance, reflective of the new amount effective January 1, 2024.
