Jobs Minister requests Canada Post and CUPW return to negotiations

Following today’s request from the Minister of Jobs and Families, Canada Post is ready to quickly return to the negotiations table and engage with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) with the assistance of Federal mediators.

Our goal remains to reach a timely and fair resolution that begins to respond to the significant challenges we face, helps us better serve the modern delivery needs of Canadians and respects our employees.

The preferred path forward to address these issues has always been through a negotiated settlement. After 18 months at an impasse, all options must be considered to address these critical priorities, including an employee directed vote.

We are therefore ready to discuss these matters with CUPW with the urgency that’s required and look forward to receiving the union’s response to our final offer, which we presented on May 28, 2025.

Canada Post’s final offers

Details about our final offers to CUPW-represented employees are available at canadapost.ca/offers.

  • Yeah why did they delete over 200 coments …is the corp scared of the unions complaint?

  • Once again it goes to arbitration. Bye bye signing bonus. Bye bye raise that was offered in final offer. Is CUPW going to refund all the union dues we’ve been paying and have not seen any results?? Just wondering

    • CUPW doesn’t want us getting anything especially a signing Bonus. Bunch of failures, and uneducated negotiators. I’d rather have a child negotiate for us, they’d do a better job

  • What are we waiting for. Another wage lost. Great let’s settle now so we all have jobs.

  • Both sides must do some thinking. Let’s settle now and carry on business for our customers that we have left. Why put all the stress on the employes. It has been long enough and money lost. Settle now.

    • CUPW does NOT want to settle, they want to risk our jobs and piss off Canadians.. CUPW is not for the membership when they support the communist party of Canada, we must be allowed to vote, arbitration will be worse.

  • So cupw doesn’t want a membership vote, why not? Are they representing only a small percentage of the membership? So confusing.

    Let’s vote already!!!

  • Let us see the whole offer, not just the “good” bullet points. We should see what we are losing too!

  • We want vote, vote, vote!!!

  • Why are you deleting comments?

  • We want a vote as soon as possible get this over with now !!!
