July 2, 2025, 05:03 pm 9 comments

Canada Post is providing employees with the information they need to make an informed choice when it comes time to vote on the company’s final offers to CUPW.

New information on the offers website

We’ve added new information to the offers site at canadapost.ca/offers:

Fact sheet on total compensation and benefits (RSMC):

  • Employees will receive annual increases to their activity values and variable activities.
    • 6% increase in year one (including the 5% paid in December 2024), 3% in year two, and 2% in each of years three and four.
  • All employees will receive a signing bonus.
    • $1,000 signing bonus for RSMCs with 6 or more scheduled hours per day and $500 for all other employees, including OCREs.
  • Leave, pension, health benefits and post-retirement benefits won’t change for current employees – and RSMC job security provisions are improving.
  • Cost-of-living allowance (COLA) payments will be triggered if inflation exceeds a set threshold, giving greater income protection against inflation.

About the vote

As a CUPW-represented employee, you will have the opportunity to vote on the offer for your bargaining unit. If approved, the offer would become your new collective agreement.

This comes after a year and a half of discussions with CUPW, the assistance of established mediators, four global offers and an Industrial Inquiry Commission hearing and report. This vote gives employees the opportunity to have a voice, especially as we begin to implement needed changes for the postal system.

The vote will be conducted by the Canada Industrial Relations Board. We will share information about when and how to vote as soon as it’s available.

  • So is it 6% plus the 5% we already got? Or we getting an extra 1%? Wording isn’t black and white

  • It has been forgotten that Canada Post didn’t need to make a profit on becoming a Crown Corporation. It was also created to squeeze out the Treasury Board out of negotiations making them easier to get done.

  • I don’t accept this final offer because it is insufficient, given the increased cost of living. Most families must pay for their children’s education, mortgage, rental, gas and food.

    • What makes you think you’ll get a bigger raise by voting ‘no’? The more likely outcome is everyone will lose more money in a lock-out.

  • There are changes at the top that need to be made as well. Our business never should have declined by the amount it has (parcel volume ). Management hasn’t done a proper job of supporting the businesses & keeping them with CP.
The awful negotiations has been terrible but business before this was also in decline.
Implementing CMB’s & RSMC’s in the 90’s was a fabulous start & not sure why things continued at a decline instead of continuing on that path. It would have supported the Canadian public & continued to evolve as a thriving delivery business.
Time to make changes & get back on track ! Let’s get this vote done already!

    • CUPW is to blame for the Christmas strike.. Charities losing millions, ruining Black Friday sales and disappointing Canadians, and all you can say is Blame CPC.. Most RSMCS made more money without CUPW as well.. Blame your union for crippling the company..

      • An Actual RSMC

Total bunk!! All RSMCs gained at least 25% more compensation! What a completely ridiculous, provable lie. When has any corporation or government ever given workers anything without a fight? This is all on Canada Post, 100%.

      • Its a shame that you cannot back your statement up by putting your name.
Unfortunately, you have been misinformed. The Union is not crippling Canada Post. It’s been mismanaged. You cannot claim business expenses as losses and that’s what they are trying to do, while still giving themselves huge bonuses! Does that seem right? Canada Post is not bargaining in good faith. They have left the table far too many times and now is relying on the Government to bail them out!
